HG10-Piesko takes FAAST September Shootout Title

Hawks GOLD 10U - Piesko recorded a perfect 4 - 0 record in the FAAST September Shootout tournament.  The bats were alive throughout the tournament as the boys recorded over 10 hits each game.

The first game HG10-Piesko started strong with a 12-0 lead ending the first inning.  Gavin Pejakovich was asked to start the game and went 2 innings allowing 1 hit, and record 4 K's while allowing 0 runs.  Viau, Wynn and Andrzejewski each had 3 hits in the game, while Burke and Lehman recorded 2 hits each.  The game ended in a 15 - 0 score.

The second game HG faced the Southwest Aztecs where Piesko started and went 3 innings allowing 1 hit, 3 walks and recorded 7 strikeouts with 2 runs scored.  Forcia and Burkert had 3 hits each, while Piesko, Viau, Wynn, Adrzejewski, Lehman and Burke recorded 2 hits a piece.  The score ended in a 16-4 final.

The 3rd game put HG against the MI Bulldogs where 4 pitchers (Lehman, Andrzejewski, Pejakovich and Viau) combined for 4 strikeouts, 11 walks while allowing 7 runs.  HG was held to 5 hits in the game.  Burke had 2 hits , while Viau, Pejakovich and Lehman each had 1.  The final score was 8 - 7.

In the Championship game HG10-Piesko started Trevor Viau and he went only only inning as HG bats started working once again with 24 total hits.  Burke had 4 hits while Viau, Andrzejewski and Parris each had 3 hits.  Everyone on the HG10-Piesko team had a hit in the game as HG10-Piesko took home their first tournament title with a 23-8 victory over the Howell Highlanders 10U - Forth team.

Curtis Wynn caught 4 runners stealing the bases allowing 11 of 15 to steal (79%).  While HG10-Piesko had 97 stolen bases and were caught 3 times 86 - 89 (97%).  HG scored 62 runs (15.5 / per game) while our opponents scored 19 total runs (4.75 / per game).  Our pitchers struck out 21 batters while our batters struck out a total of 8 times in the four games played.  We walked 11 times, while we allowed 23 walks to the opposing team.  Austin Burke and Cooper Andrzejewski were perfect from the plate Burke 10 for 10 and Andrzejewski 8 for 8 while Viau was 9 for 11.
